About Diorama

Built for athletes who want to keep going.

Diorama gives masters endurance athletes a clear, honest picture of their body without adding pressure, streaks, or noise.

Why it exists

Masters athletes are still racing and training seriously in their 40s, 50s, and beyond. They also carry old injuries, busy schedules, and decades of context that a generic training plan cannot see.

Recovery changes with age, injuries accumulate, and work and family shape the week. Diorama puts training load, sleep, HRV, pain, and readiness in one view so you can make better decisions without needing a sports scientist on retainer.

The metaphor

Your body is a landscape.

A diorama is a constructed scene you observe from every angle: terrain, light, weather, and time of day. The app does the same for gait, recovery, sleep, pain, labs, and training. It gives you a landscape you can read without turning it into a leaderboard.

How we approach it

Practical over theatrical

Lead with useful help. If a feature doesn't make a real decision easier, it shouldn't be there.

Guidance without guilt

Design for imperfect weeks, missed sessions, and human variability. Good coaching adapts to the athlete, not the other way around.

Context over pressure

Bring pain, recovery, readiness, and planning together so decisions feel grounded and free of shame.

Privacy with restraint

Local-first by default. Sync is explicit. AI boundaries are clear. Your data is not the product.

Who built it

“I built this because I needed it. I was training through injury, approaching 50, and every app I tried either dumped data on me or coached hard with no idea what was actually going on in my body or my week. I just wanted to know what to do today — without feeling judged for being human.

I've spent 25 years building healthcare software, where careful handling of personal data isn't optional. That thinking is built into Diorama. You should get to choose who sees your health data.”
